T-Shirts – Part of Americana While the exact date, designer and originator of the T-shirt is lost in obscurity [we think], t-shirts seem to have come on the American scene in 1901, thanks to the Hanes folks! It was part of a two-piece men’s underwear design offered in their catalog. But who really helped popularize “the Tee”? None other than the Navy. Long story . . . but added stature was given to this undergarment-turned-street-wear by Marlon Brando in the celebrated 1951 film, A Streetcar Named Desire. The rest . . . . is history. Today, t shirts come in 50 or more colors besides white! There are “ringer tees” [with a trimmed crewneck collar], pocket t-shirts, long-sleeved t-shirts, tank top tees, shooter tees [yes, found on practically any basketball court], and more. Many fashionable styles have been created as well for the feminine form. Whether it’s t-shirt printing [screen printing] or embroidery, practically any quality t-shirt is a candidate for “decorating” with an artistic design or logo. All of which – we hasted to add – is done every day by our team of Corporate Apparel Unlimited partners! And top quality is our guarantee, with t-shirt brands including not only Hanes but Gildan, Jerzees, Anvil, Rivers End, Fruit of the Loom, Authentic Pigment, and Bella, to name a few. |
